Iceland 2019 - Days 5-8

Days 5-8 were spent putting around with an amazing group of small, uplifting people. We checked out the black sand beaches, some breathtaking cliffs, Skogafoss waterfall (againnn I know, it’s worth a double-look), AN ABANDONED PLANE AT LIKE 3AM THAT YOU HAVE TO HIKE AN HOUR TO GET TO, and other such crazy madness. Then, it was OFF TO PARIS! To be continued……..

Iceland 2019 - Days 3 +4

Day 3 of Iceland was otherwordly. I worked up the courage to rent a car and drive about 6 hours outside of Reykjavik to go scope out the countryside. In a perfect world, my ex wouldn’t have been an ex, and we’d have gone together and I’d have made a badass vid while driving through, maybe even would have driven the whole island (it takes about 13 hours)! But I did what I was comfortable doing and even that was so emotionally filling. I saw some of the amazing Icelandic horses and sheep, made a few stops to some sights to see, STRUGGLED AT THE GAS STATION LOL (you’d THINK it was the same as it is here in the US, HAHAHA NO.), went to the glacier lagoon and touched an actual glacier (dooope), flew the drone (where it was legal to!!!) and visited a couple waterfalls :) YO. Skogafoss is 110 million percent worth the hype. It’s breathtaking and badass. It’s ginormous (it’s freezing from the back draft). And you can make the hike to the top (it hurts but it’s worth it!). I was there about 10 at night and the sun was still out LOL. I wish I flew the drone here but I wanted to be respectful of the rules PLUS that draft would have destroyed my poor little UFO with all that moisture.

Day 4 I was finally able to be with PEOPLE and boy did I need it. I was surrounded by so many wonderful women (and one guy who attended this workshop) who were so kind and empowering. Jamie with Evolve Workshops is the best and her vibe definitely attracted this tribe :) A couple of us went to check out a crater lake before we all met up for dinner and check-in at our hotel in DT Reykjavik.

December 2019 iPhone In Review and Drone Practice

Whew, so much can change in a year, or even a few months… This year brought me a lot of change that I never imagined would happen. This post (the official December iPhone/misc. post - got some droning, i-snaps of Yosemite, Saosin show on my birthday, and other such fun), the forthcoming Yosemite post (whenever I work up the strength to finish the adventure vid I started), and a few other spring posts will all hurt a little bit but luckily I’ve accomplished a LOT of healing since the breakup that sent a shockwave through my entire existence. I guess that’s the price I pay to be so behind on editing… I’ve made the executive decision in my life to leave the photos that were already uploaded ready to go in all the posts. I’ve made the decision to pick back up on the videos I was working on when disaster struck. I’ve made the decision that all of these blog posts are just one giant diary of my life here as a creative, steps in a journey that all of us humans need to navigate one way or another, and the hard work I’ve put in does not deserve to vanish simply because someone chose to vanish from my life. And to anyone reading this going through their own personal struggles, STAY STRONG—YOU GOT THIS AND ARE SO MUCH STRONGER THAN YOU REALIZE! xoxox - A
