Winter 2015 - Spring 2016 Adventure Video!

Yes! The next adventure video is up and ready to view! I've been learning so much by just playing around in iMovie, and I'm really starting to paying attention to other videographers' and directors' moves as well. Check it out! I'll link the separate adventures' blog posts, if they're up and ready yet, below.

Alright, alright, alright! Here's a collection of mini adventures from Winter 2015 through Spring 2016. It includes Malibu-- December 2015, Mojave-- April 2016, and a show at Katz Alley in Riverside, featuring Those Folk and Don't Kick Jimmy. Check it out! I'm still learning about video, expanding my skills, and experimenting with new things. Enjoy! February 2016 In Review - Adventure Time!

Alright, so Yeah Field Trip got its own 4-part post, but it's time for the rest of February to have its time in the sun, too. Let's kick it off, eh?

I had a nice picnic trip to the beach with unseasonally-warm weather with my bear, enjoying the gorgeousness that Newport always has to offer!

I got to take a friend horseback riding! My pony was named Apache--she was super sweet but had a big case of the munchies the whole way! I got to nab a few shots with my Photojojo Iris lenses:

I stared quite longingly at the pool, waiting for actually-warmer days... soon enough!

My friend Stephanie and I had a sweet little photographer's lunch and played around shooting in the back alleys of Pasadena. Here are some highlights (Steph's eyes!! Like crystal ice magic.) I had just gotten the Petzval 58, and took it for a spin (har har) but ultimately decided it was harder to work with than the Petzval 85 (the aperture plates fall right out of the 58 for some reason).

So, I also played around a bit with the new Petzval in the backyard. Here are my dogs, and some plants. Ha! Enjoy that gorgeous, swirly bokeh.

Later that month, I also got a new 35mm for my full-frame. It's only a 1.8, but it's still pretty amazing! I made the mistake of buying a 35mm DX (cropped sensor)--I got real tired of the excessive vignetting real fast. Ha! So, here's a portrait of my new lemon tree and my jade plants in early bloom with some bumble friends.

Yeah Field Trip! Days 3-5 (Part 2) - February 2016

Whew! What a ride. Here's the final installment of blogs about Yeah Field Trip, 2016. This particular post covers the tail end (pun kinda intended, there are wolfy pictures in this one) of my wonderful journey a bit north to Santa Barbara. Enjoy! I can't wait until next year, seriously.

I loved hanging out with Project Wildsong! Go check them out, seriously. They do some great work. Look at these gorgeous wolves! Below:

So, that's a wrap on the wolfy goodness. Following are some snaps of some details of the campgrounds (a tattoo artist!! me inside a hula hoop with my custom screenprinted shirt!), the journey toward getting our full "family portrait" on, and playing around at the beach.

A couple of friends and I did an impromptu mini boudoir session in the groves during sunset. (These are PG-13 or so, but probably not suitable for work. :) )

The last of our evenings, I attended a funny panel on photography disasters... Check out the bonus footy at the end of the adventure video for a nice sampling of the discussion had. ;)
